SAPINDUS TRIFOLIATUS (Soap-Nut)
USES : Natural Detergent
A decoction of the bark is good for cattle suffering from ulcers due to worms ifestation after calving. It is widely used as a soap to clean hair of head.
Two chief species are: (i) Sapindus trifoliatus (ii) Sapindus emarginata
It is emetic, purgative and abortifacient so that pregnant woman should be avoided to use internally.
Tincture of Sapindus is used in Homeopathy.
